Trystar launches Its 35 kW Model OZPCS-RS35 power conversion system

07 April 2025

Trystar has launched its newest power conversion product solution, the Rack Scale 35 kW Model OZPCS-RS35. Optimized for 208 V AC 3-phase and 120/240 V AC split phase grid connection and ETL Listed to UL 1741SB standards, the OZPCS-RS35 employs a transformerless design in a compact 3U form factor. This 19-inch rack mounted form factor allows for easy paralleling and enables a flexible and sophisticated energy storage system architecture. Front side terminations simplify interconnection and permit easy system expansion.

The UL 1741SB Listing (known as Supplement B) includes a testing process, which verifies that the power conversion system (PCS) can perform smart-inverter functions, therefore making it much more resilient in the face of dynamic power grid conditions. Additionally, the OZPCS-RS35 is listed to the CSA C22.2 No. 107.1 standard as power conversion equipment, and is SunSpec Modbus Certified. The SunSpec Certified mark represents an ecosystem of SunSpec tested and approved products. SunSpec Alliance certifiesSource: TrystarSource: Trystar distributed energy resources system components and software applications for compliance with official and de facto communication standards. Of importance to note, SunSpec Alliance has also identified Trystar as a key industry leader in driving this communication standard and its adoption.

“We are extremely excited to introduce the OZPCS-RS35 to the commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage industry,” stated Dave Zendzian, Trystar’s vice president of engineering. “We are proud to be able to leverage the rich feature set, multi-mode capability, and best-in-class efficiency of our already well-known 480VAC OZPCS-RS40 in our new OZPCS-RS35. In one of the smallest footprints in the market, the OZPCS-RS35 has been specifically designed and optimized for both 208VAC 3-phase and 120/240VAC split phase C&I applications.”

As Trystar has continued to grow, the company has seen an increase in the demand for smart-inverter connectivity, as well as scalable, reliable products in the energy storage market. Concluded Zendzian, “Trystar reports a compellingly positive response from its customers, citing that having its PCS solutions meet the new UL 1741SB standard represents the future of energy storage. Having the Supplement B certification demonstrates the company’s commitment to keeping up with the evolving smart-inverter grid requirements and makes the OZPCS-RS35 especially valuable for integrated grid-tied and microgrid battery energy storage systems.”
