Intel Corp. has launched two Ethernet product lines targeted at enterprise, telecom, cloud, edge, high performance computing and AI applications.

Called the Ethernet E830 and E610 controllers and network adapters, the devices are aimed at providing high performance connectivity while also enhancing energy efficiency and security as well as lowering cost of ownership.

Intel said the Ethernet devices have better performance and security for both data centers and edge environments than previous generations. As applications like AI, IoT, edge, cloud computing, 5G and more grow in data and connectivity, Ethernet solutions will need higher performance, the company said.

E830 family

The Ethernet E830 family is designed for workloads in virtualized enterprise, cloud, telecom and edge applications. It includes dual-port 25 GbE PCIe and OCP 3.0-compliant adapters. Other features include:

  • Speeds up to 200 GbE
  • Port configurations of 1x200GbE, 2x100/50/25/10GbE and 8x25/10GbE
  • Precision time measurement
  • Secure boot
  • Secure firmware upgrade
  • Dual hardware roots of trust

E610 family

The Ethernet E610 family is for use cases where power efficiency and security to control plan networking are needed. The features include:

  • Support for 10GBASE-T, 5G, 2.5G and 1000BASE-T
  • Secure security protocol and data model (SPDM)
  • Platform level data model (PLDM)
  • Baseboard management controller pass through
  • NC-SI support
  • 50% less power consumption than previous generations
  • Hardware root of trust
  • Compatibility with prior-generation 10GBASE-T
