Emerson has introduced the latest data acquisition (DAQ) devices for cost-effective options for deploying high-performance test and measurement systems over Ethernet.

Emerson said the NI cDAQ-9187 and NI cDAQ-9183 Ethernet chassis are the first entry-level Ethernet devices in its lineup targeted at electrical and sensor measurements over Ethernet-supported distances. Both devices feature a single Ethernet port and omit external trigger lines. This reduces costs and streamlines the setup process.

The NI 9204 input module offers a lower channel count to support both differential and single-ended channel configurations. This includes multiple gain settings and features a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter to deliver precise, reliable measurements.

“Our NI hardware and software advancements provide engineers with tools that enable better research, improved product quality and greater innovation,” said Jesse Lyles, vice president of Emerson’s test and measurement portfolio business group.

Emerson said the open-source platform allows test engineers to download, upload and share customer plug-ins for different applications. The platform includes templates and contributions from Emerson engineers and the broader community, allowing:

  • Faster development
  • Improved test processes
  • Enhanced functionality
  • Easier integration into existing FlexLogger setups
