Arguably one of the most hotly anticipated parts of CES — the annual consumer electronics tradeshow held in Las Vegas, Nevada — is the roll-out of the latest in food and beverage tech. If it is anything like the tradeshows of year's past, the technology making its debut at this year’s show will surely not disappoint, with innovations ranging from a refrigerator that cooks to an artificial intelligence (AI) Indoor Garden Kit.
For this and more, follow along with Electronics360 to see some of the latest food and beverage technology debuting at CES 2025.
Eatfigo
Eatfigo, a refrigerator that cooks, from the company of the same name, will make its debut at this year’s CES 2025.
Eatfigo's technology reportedly marries precise sous-vide cooking with advanced refrigeration, enabling users to schedule meals that cook themselves. This technology, the company explained, benefits individuals committed to healthy eating habits, in particular, including those following Keto, Paleo or low-carb diets, by simplifying the steps involved in preparing wholesome, nutrient-rich dishes.
Daedong
Daedong a maker of agriculture tech, will debut its AI Indoor Garden Kit at this year’s CES.
Designed to help with urban gardening and indoor farming, the new AI garden kit consists of “seed capsules,” which is where the seeds sprout from and allows users to grow virtually any crops they want at home. The kit also features a monitoring camera that automatically reads the seed capsule's code to register the specific type of seed, and automatically controls the environment — such as temperature, humidity, nutrient solution level and brightness — based on the type of seed growing. Meanwhile, the accompanying Daedong garden kit app lets users monitor their crops in real time and analyze them using AI algorithms to predict growth, leaf size and weight and to determine when it is best to harvest that crop.
According to its developers, Daedong’s AI garden kit, a 2025 CES Honoree in Food and AgTech, can be used to grow more than 40 varieties of leafy vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruits.
Midbar Co.
Another CES 2025 Honoree in Food and AgTech, the AirFarm: FOOD ARK from Midbar Co. is, as its name suggests, an air-inflated smart farm that allows for food production virtually anywhere, anytime. The aeroponic container farm can inflate quickly, within half a day, and bring agriculture to any indoor space with its 10 ft and 20 ft designs.
According to its developers, the AirFarm is based on technology that converts water vapor into water, enabling the Airfarm to recirculate the water back to the crops. Additionally, water is directly sprayed to the roots as mist, thereby optimizing water efficiency and reducing 99% of water use versus conventional farming, and 90% versus existing smart farms.
Pore Inc.
A food waste treatment system from Pore Inc. that reportedly dries and pulverizes food waste up to 95% and more than 80% on average will make its debut at CES 2025. A CES 2025 Honoree in Home Appliances, the food waste treatment system, according to the company, is the world's first internet of things (IoT)-based system capable of identifying the weight and type of food so that the optimal drying process can be provided.
Thoth Corporation
Thoth Corporation is introducing its FruitPacker system, which is a modular robot designed for fruit packaging and preparation. Featuring components that can be assembled for tasks like washing, inspection, weighing and packaging, the FruitPacker is adaptable for small farms to large Agricultural Processing Centers (APCs).
Thoth Corporation’s FruitPacker, which is another CES 2025 Honoree in Food and AgTech, collects and analyzes real-time data to identify the optimal packaging methods and operational efficiencies.
Metafarmers Inc.
Metafarmers Inc. will be bringing its suite of products, including their MetaFarmer robots and accompanying TapFarmers software, to this year’s CES. Yet another CES 2025 Honoree in Food and AgTech, the system includes robots that precisely harvest crops coupled with software that enables remote management of farming operations. The system also features AI and specialized end-effector tools.
Kirin Holdings Company
Kirin Holdings Company, a 2025 Honoree in both the Digital Health and Accessibility and Age Tech categories at the CES Innovation Awards 2025, brings with it to the tradeshow its Electric Salt Spoon. This utensil-shaped device reportedly enhances the saltiness and umami flavors of low-sodium foods and thus encourages heathier eating.
According to its developers, the Electric Salt Spoon is able to enhance the saltiness and umami flavors of low-sodium foods by using a mild electrical current.
Samsung Electronics
Samsung Electronics is debuting its new line of refrigerators enhanced with AI Hybrid Cooling technology at CES 2025. According to Samsung, the new refrigerators feature AI Hybrid Cooling technology, which combines AI with a cooling system that enhances energy efficiency for users.
The AI Hybrid Cooling technology incorporates a compressor with a Peltier module — which is a semiconductor device that cools by leveraging the temperature change caused by electric current flow. This combination allows the refrigerator to operate similarly to a hybrid car, using both power sources simultaneously only when necessary to maximize cooling efficiency.
For instance, when there is a high cooling demand — such as after loading groceries, storing hot food or during hot summer days — the refrigerator activates the Peltier module alongside the compressor. During regular operation, however, it relies solely on the compressor for optimal energy efficiency. An AI algorithm monitors the refrigerator's status and predicts temperature fluctuations, enabling it to adjust the cooling mode as necessary.
