Archer Aviation Inc. plans to launch a second air mobility network in California as the company has come to an agreement in Los Angeles.
In June, Archer announced plans to create an air mobility network in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, working with Kilroy Realty Corp. to develop a 50-acre waterfront campus in South San Francisco.
The planned network will include vertiports at locations in the Los Angeles area as an alternative to automotive commutes. Archer said the goal is to offer passengers the option to go to a nearby vertiport and then fly 10 to 20 minutes in an aircraft to a destination of their choice.
The planned locations include:
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
- Orange County
- Santa Monica
- Hollywood Burbank
- Long Beach
- Van Nuys
- Woodland Hills
- USC
- SoFi Stadium
The air taxi network is slated to begin operations by as early as 2026.
Additionally, Archer said it is coordinating with the Los Angeles Rams to collaborate on potential exclusive vertiports at Woodland Hills and at Hollywood Park — a 300-acre district in 3.1 million square-foot SoFi Stadium.
The University of Southern California will also be engaged in the planned network to convert existing heliports to vertiports to accommodate Archer’s Midnight air taxis.
