The latest BeagleBoard.org single board computer (SBC), the BeagleY-AI, is now available from Newark, a division of Avnet.
The SBC is designed to allow users to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-based devices for robotics, factory and building automation, test and measurement, medical technology, human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and intelligent vision. The BeagleY-AI has the computing power to develop tasks like image classification, object detection, semantic segmentation and others.
The BeagleY-AI includes the Texas Instruments’ AM67A system-on-chip (SoC) that includes a quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A53 CPU, dual general purpose digital signal processor (DSP), Arm Cortex-R5 subsystem, GPU and video and vision accelerators.
Other features of the developer board include:
- 4GB LPDDR4 memory
- MicroSD card socket
- Board identifier EEPROM
- Three simultaneous displays: microHDMI, OLDI with touchscreen support, MIPI-DSI with touchscreen support
- 3-pin JST-SH console UART
- 10-pin TAG-CONNECT JTAG header
- PCI-Express Gen3
- USB-C device port
- 40-pin expansion header
Additionally, the BeagleY-AI SBC is compatible with a range of existing accessories to expand the functionality to like power over Ethernet (PoE), NVMe storage and 5G connectivity.
