Empower to showcase power chiplets and IVRs at APEC

15 February 2024

Empower Semiconductors will demonstrate its latest integrated voltage regulators (IVRs) and high-density power chiplets at the upcoming Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) 2024.

Additionally, the company will present an industry session entitled “In-Package DC-DC Conversion Simplifies and Improves the Performance of Deep Submicron AI/xPU Power Domains” during the trade show.

Empower’s EP71XX family of multi-rail, multi-phase regulators deliver up to 20 W and eliminate the need for external components. This shrinks the board space by three times, the company said. The devices are geared toward giving embedded system engineers additional choices as well as accelerating the design-in process.

In the industry session, the company will discuss design challenges of current and next-generation performance AI/xPU products manufactured on FinFET processes. The session will also discuss how the technologies allow integration of the power conversion inside the product package, which simplifies power delivery network and reduces the power train, package ball count and printed circuit board space.

APEC 2024 takes place in Long Beach, California, on Feb. 25-29, 2024.
