The LoRa Alliance will attend the Smart Cities Expo World Congress 2023 demonstrating solutions for smart cities in the realm of the internet of things (IoT) solutions that work on long range (LoRa) low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs).
LoRaWAN technology uses public, private and satellite networks in cities to enable IoT devices to connect. These include how LoRaWAN IoT can enhance urban life as well as allow municipalities to better manage environmental and control systems like pollution reduction, traffic management, temperature monitoring and more.
“LoRaWAN technology continues to deliver strong value to cities worldwide as they engage in digital transformation,” said Donna Moore, CEO and chairwoman of the LoRa Alliance. “With public, private and satellite networks available in thousands of cities and backed by a huge member ecosystem, LoRaWAN is accelerating cities’ paths to becoming smart.”
The LoRa Alliance said it will demonstrate member companies’ smart city solutions at the show such as:
- Actility’s ThingPark IoT platform
- Wireless temperature sensors from Brunata Zenner
- LoRaWAN smart city solution from Milesight
- OrbiWise’s environmental and power monitoring
- Smart waste management using LoRaWAN from Pepperl+Fuchs
- Seeed Studio’s pollution reduction solution
- Watteco’s sustainable maintenance with LoRaWAN
The Smart Cities Expo World Congress takes place in Barcelona, Spain, on Nov. 7 to Nov. 9, 2023.
