RF/microwave signal generator covers 100 kHz to 50 GHz

13 November 2023

A new radio frequency (RF)/microwave signal generator developed by Berkeley Nucleonics offers exceptional performance with ultra-high agility and ultra-low phase noise in the 100 kHz to 50 GHz frequency range.

The Model 870A unit is equipped with a newly redesigned touchscreen interface to streamline navigating through settings, adjusting parameters and customizing waveforms. The output stage filtering incorporates innovative methods for signal management, resulting in exceptional harmonic performance to ensure that the signals generated are clean, precise and free from unwanted distortions.

Users can routinely achieve switching speeds as low as 500 μs, and the availability of a Fast Control Port (FCP) option can further reduce switching speeds to 15 µs. Connectivity options include Ethernet, USB or GPIB for 1-, 2-, 3- or 4-channel configurations, making it suitable for a wide range of applications in laboratory, production or research settings. The multi-channel versions are housed in a standard 19 inch 1U rack-mountable enclosure.
