A new agreement between two leading connector companies will boost availability and shorten the supply chain for an innovative mini-circular connector.
AirBorn, Inc. and ODU-USA entered into an agreement for a new defense and aerospace-grade circular connector series, which will offer performance equal to or better than the legacy MIL-DTL-38999 style andSource: AirBorn, Inc. other mini-circular connectors widely used in defense and aerospace applications.
The products will be manufactured and qualified to a joint product specification to ensure intermate-ability and functionality. Additionally, the products will utilize existing MIL-Std contacts or optional higher performance contacts to provide state-of-art reliability and performance in harsh environment applications.
“Many new applications in defense, aircraft and other harsh environment environments require performance and functionality beyond the legacy MIL circular connectors,” said Michael Blanchfield, AirBorn senior director of the aircraft and defense business unit. “The agreement with ODU will help designers and end-users by providing state-of-art solutions and multisource assurance of supply to overcome the supply chain challenges we have all experienced these past few years.”
AirBorn’s product will be available for sale in late 2023.
