Renesas Electronics Corp. has introduced what it claims is the first cloud-based system development tool designed for engineers to create internet of things (IoT) software.
Called Quick-Connect Studio, the software allows users to graphically build hardware and software to validate prototypes and accelerate product development. The system allows for simultaneous development of hardware and software to quickly reconfigure and test product ideas.
Renesas said this helps with time savings and reduces risk as engineers can validate designs prior to committing hardware layout.
Using the system, engineers can drag and drop device and subsystem blocks on the cloud to build the software. After placing a block, engineers can generate, compile and build software, automatically eliminating no-code paradigm in development.
The result is the rapid build of solutions in the cloud and deploy to hardware in under 10 minutes, Renesas said. The cloud compute power provides fast compilation and the modern GUI reduces the learning curve and promotes project reuse.
Quick-Connect Studio is built on Renesas’ Quick-Connect IoT that features interfaces for PMOD, Arduino and MIKROE. Using these platforms, engineers can mix and match MCUs, MPUs, sensors and connectivity boards seamlessly.
