CES 2023: Near- and long-range lidar to be showcased

12 December 2022

Cepton Inc. will unveil a new lidar solution at the upcoming CES 2023 trade show taking place in Las Vegas from Jan. 5-8.

Called the Vista-X120 Plus, the lidar will be offered in a slim, compact design with real-time adaptive 3D perception for consumer vehicles as well as next generation software-defined. The lidar sensor was recognized by the CES 2023 Innovation Award program in the Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility category.

Additionally, Cepton will feature a Chevy Silverado and a Ford F-150 equipped with near- and long-range automotive lidars that are embedded into multiple locations around the vehicles such as headlamps, fog lamps, side mirrors, front grill and tailgate.

The in-vehicle lidar sensors will also be demonstrated in the lighting systems to enable near-range blind spot elimination and long-range obstacle detection. A second demonstration will be a fully integrated cleaning system from Koito Manufacturing for automotive lidar dual-light self-cleaning to address real-life driving needs, Cepton said.
