Digi-Key Electronics is now carrying a selection of Soracom products including removable internet of things (IoT) SIM cards, USB dongles and IoT cloud integration and protocol conversion services.

The IoT SIM cards allow users access to a global network of mobile operators including GSM, LTE, 4G, 3G and 2G technology and support form factors 2FF, 3FF, 4FF and other multicarrier support. Soracom’s Onyx LTE USB dongle allows for cellular data connectivity for both fixed and mobile applications.

The cloud integration services allows connections between devices and cloud platforms, transmitting data from IoT devices directly into the cloud. This cuts down on third party APIs or scripts and reduces data consumption, Digi-Key said.

Soracom offers pay-as-you-go terms for testing of the dongles, SIMs and other technology and the included network operator console provides granular-level control over SIMs, data thresholds, events and alerts and billing. Users can also suspend SIMs or pause billing when devices are not being actively used, which reduces the total cost of ownership, the companies said.
