Quantela acquires smart lighting and smart city vendor Cimcon

04 August 2021

Quantela Inc. has acquired Cimcon Lighting Inc., a leader in smart lighting and smart city technologies.

The deal will give Quantela full coverage and access to streetlight pole infrastructure. This will allow the company to deploy the technology to improve societal and economic infrastructures.

The cost savings realized through the deployment of these Cimcon controllers into streetlight poles will help cities with costs savings while improving the commercial viability of the digitization business case.

Cimcon’s smart lighting will enable communities to reduce streetlight energy consumption and maintenance costs.

Cimcon has more than 200 customers in 30 countries and has deployed more than 1.2 million streetlight controls. Cimcon’s Burlington, Massachusetts, location will serve as Quantela’s new U.S. headquarters.
