Jeep recently showed off its new all-electric Jeep Grand Cherokee that it plans to be a series of electric vehicles (EVs) the company will introduce over the next decade as the company transitions to an all-electric lineup much like other automotive OEMs have announced.
However, along the way Jeep also introduced a concept vehicle that includes a host of new options for drivers and passengers including biometric identification via facial recognition, peer-to-peer electric charging allowing EVs to charge other EVs in case of an emergency, autonomous capabilities and pairing with a drone.
The video shows the future that Jeep is looking to build with its EVs, but whether this becomes a reality or not is another matter.
The idea of pairing drones with vehicles has been a work of fiction for a long time, but a more practical matter for using drones is shown in the Jeep video where the drone is used to light the way ahead in a very dark environment. Other use cases could include scouting the road ahead for dangers or traffic or finding an alternate path of travel.
