Zeiss has introduced a new computed tomography (CT) system that brings the capability of non-destructive inspection of components to small- and medium-sized businesses.

Source: Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology LLCSource: Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology LLCThe Zeiss Metrotom 1 is a compact CT system designed as an entry-level, easy-to-operate solution for non-destructive inspection that provides precise results. Little time is required to learn how to use the machine, which takes only a few simple steps: Place the parts to be inspected into the system, press the button and analyze the measurement results.

Easy operation of the system is guaranteed with the software GOM Volume Inspect for capturing and analyzing 3D volume data. The latest version offers many more volume functions for detailed analysis of the measurement data without the need to invest in additional software.

At 175 cm wide and 87 cm deep, the Metrotom 1 is small enough to fit in any measurement room or laboratory. It is ideal for measuring small- to medium-sized plastic or light metal parts such as connectors, plastic caps or aluminum castings. Because the device does not require maintenance, the operating costs are low.
