Verizon expands 5G business access to 21 new cities

21 April 2021

Verizon has expanded its Business Internet service to 21 new U.S. cities as an alternative to cable broadband.

The technology uses Verizon’s 5G ultra-wideband technology, which will be the backbone for running an entire business from point of sales systems to employee productivity devices.

The service will be available to parts of the following cities: Anaheim, California; Atlanta, Georgia; Cincinnati and Cleveland, Ohio; Dallas, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Detroit, Michigan; Indianapolis, Indiana; Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri; Las Vegas, Nevada; Miami, Florida; Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota; Phoenix, Arizona; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose, California with parts of Riverside-Corona, California, coming later this month. Previously, Chicago, Illinois; Houston, Texas; and Los Angeles, California, were the only cities with this service. Verizon said additional cities will be announced in the future.

“As 5G Business Internet scales into new cities, businesses of all sizes can gain access to the superfast speeds, low latency and next-gen applications enabled by 5G Ultra-Wideband, with no throttling or data limits," said Tami Erwin, CEO of Verizon Business.

Businesses can choose from 100, 200 and 400 Mbps plans for large enterprise and small and medium business customers without data limits.

Meanwhile, Verizon has expanded its standard 5G service to parts of New Orleans, Louisiana; Fresno and Riverside, California; and San Antonio, Texas. Verizon will also expand its 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) to parts of Riverside, California; Memphis, Tennessee; and San Antonio, Texas, in the coming weeks.
