Philatron launches new Philaflex™ electrical vehicle charging cable line for ultimate flexibility

23 July 2020

Philatron Wire and Cable has launched Philaflex™, a lightweight, flexible electric vehicle (EV) charging cable that is UL rated for 600 and 1,000 V power.

Flexibility is crucial when working in tight spaces, especially with large size cables of 4/0 American wire gauge (AWG) or larger. The new Philaflex material is engineered to provide a great solution: It allows electric cable conductors insulation and cable jacketing to be more flexible than any other standard EV charging cable. Philaflex™ also solves cold weather problems that cause cables to become ridged, and the material is also resistant to chemicals, flame, heat, oil, ozone and water.

Philaflex EV cables comply with European Union Directive RoHS, and is available in multi-conductor sizes ranging from 10 AWG to 4/0 AWG to 500 kcmil. Temperature range is -40⁰ C to 105⁰ C.
