Mobileye has released a 22-minute unedited video of its self-driving vehicle, maneuvering through the streets of Jerusalem.
Mobileye, a division inside Intel Corp., is showing off its autonomous driving technology during CES 2020 in order to demonstrate what it can do that sets it apart from the assortment of lidar, sensing, software and prototype vehicles that are being released during the world’s largest tradeshow.
Mobileye is developing two redundant sensing systems: one that has surround-view cameras alone and others with radar and lidar.
In the video, a camera attached to a helicopter follows the autonomous vehicle, capturing an overhead view of the path it takes while a secondary view shows how the camera technology navigates the car and identifies obstacles in the way including other cars, pedestrians, unguarded intersections, delivery vehicles and more. A third screen shows the cockpit of the vehicle with a safety driver at the ready in case something goes wrong.
The new video follows on the heels of another, shorter video of the company's self-driving technology.
