On Semiconductor ships 100 million image sensors for ADAS applications

22 October 2019

Showing how the growth of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) has progressed in autonomous vehicles, On Semiconductor has surpassed the 100 million image sensor mark shipped specifically for these ADAS applications.

The 1.2 megapixel CMOS AR0132AT image sensor was selected by Subaru Corp. for its vehicles’ EyeSight driver support system, and On Semiconductor said it has signed up other automotive vendors for the chips as well. The EyeSight system was installed in the Levorg model and later in the Legacy, Forester, Impreza and Subaru XV models.

The AR0132AT is used in the stereo camera system and forms the “eyes” of the EyeSight system that allows for adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and sway warnings, pre-collision braking and pre-collision throttle management.
