Telit has introduced a Wi-Fi Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) combination module based on the Qualcomm QCA4020 system-on-chip (SoC) designed for internet of things (IoT) applications.
The WL865E4-P features integrated cryptology hardware and is designed for healthcare, video, smart home and industrial control IoT applications. The module features an ultra-low power mode that allows it to operate for years on a single AA battery meaning less frequent battery changes are needed in IoT devices.
The dual-band module supports 802.11 a,b,g and n as well as BLE 5.0 in a small footprint making it applicable for surveillance IoT devices. Additionally, the module includes a suite of security features such as secured boot, flash encryption, copy protection, HTTPs and Wi-Fi protected access/Wi-Fi protected access 2 (WPA/WPA2) personal and enterprise security modes. These make it applicable for healthcare and security or data privacy applications.
Telit is showcasing the module at Embedded World, taking place this week in Nuremberg, Germany.
