In July of this year, Marvell Technology Group Ltd. acquired Singapore-based Cavium Inc. in order to focus on the infrastructure market for storage, processing, networking, wireless connectivity and security products.
Marvell’s investment in Singapore continues with the opening of a new operations center in Singapore’s industrial area of Tai Seng Center.
While Marvell has had a presence in Singapore for more than two decades, the new site will be involved in distribution, procurement, quality control, R&D, product test engineering, sales and customer support activities. The center will also integrate the employees from Cavium in the facility.
Marvell’s first R&D center outside the U.S. was based in Singapore where it helped develop products in silicon germanium bipolar CMOS and FinFet technologies in the areas of preamplifiers, IP design and automotive ASIC implementation. The new operations center will focus on future technology in the automotive and analog design and verification segments.
