2K, Backside Illumination Image Sensors for IoT Security Cameras

25 October 2018

OmniVision Technologies Inc. has introduced a pair of 2-micron image sensors that provide backside illumination and 2K images for entry-level internet of things, industrial, commercial and residential security and surveillance cameras.

The OS02F10 and OS04B10 are based on OmniVision’s OmniBSI pixel technology that provides cameras with low-light sensitivity, can produce high-quality digital images and HD video, even in poor lighting conditions.

The OS02F10 is capable of supporting 1080p resolution streaming video at 30 frames per second. The image sensor is ultra-compact with high quantum efficiency that requires less IR illumination, enabling low power consumption for camera battery life while consuming less than 120 mW.

The OS04B10 is designed to cover larger surveillance areas with a 3.6 megapixel resolution supporting 2K streaming video at 30 fps. The image sensor features a 1/3-inch optical format and consumes less than 140 mW power.

Both image sensors are available now.
