The 2026 consolidation in the satellite communications (SATCOM) sector continues as U.S.-based national defense space vendor York Space Systems has completed its acquisition of All.Space.
The deal follows recent mega deals among the SATCOM market with Rocket Lab buying Iridium for $8.0 billion and Amazon acquiring Globalstar for $11.6 billion. While not on the same scale as these, the York-All.Space deal continues the demand for space communications systems for a variety of use cases.
In this $300 million deal, All.Space’s jam-resistant, multi-link terminal technology with York’s space infrastructure and mission operations capabilities. The goal would be to deliver tactical communications and positioning for space, land, air and maritime domains.
York said that current commercial satellite networks have the chance of being jammed, leading to military forces leaning on fiber optic lines to maintain connectivity. With unmanned systems trending, the acquisition will allow operations to be operated without disruption.
“Theaters are GPS-denied, which makes assured positioning a core requirement, not a secondary capability,” said Dirk Wallinger, CEO of York. “And coordination at the scale of a true unmanned fleet requires infrastructure that autonomy and extended communications alone have not been able to reliably provide.”
Wallinger said next generation unmanned operation will need an integrated system for communications, coordination and execution. The combined company will be able to meet this demand, York said.
