Peraso brings mmWave to the classroom

01 July 2025

Peraso Inc. has started production for a wireless video system targeted at educational environments, bringing low-latency, high-performance wireless technology to existing school Wi-Fi infrastructure.

According to the company, traditional Wi-Fi sometimes struggles in high-density deployments like schools and universities. Peraso’s 60 GHz solution reduces interference in Wi-Fi by isolating wireless transmissions to individual classrooms.

The goal is to improve connections in educational settings using millimeter wave (mmWave) technology in the 60 GHz unlicensed spectrum as an alternative to traditional communications technology. The mmWave tech:

  • Features bandwidth-constrained settings
  • Offers reduced interference
  • Improves performance for video and live streaming

The 60 GHz mmWave solution combines high data rates with low-latency to improve educational environments where traditional wireless systems are insufficient for the bandwidth in the classroom.
