Cinch unveils space-ready Micro-Ds and sockets

16 October 2024

Cinch Connectivity Solutions, a Bel Fuse company and developer of reliable connectivity solutions, has launched its Dura-Con Space Grade Micro-Ds. Engineered with precision and designed for demanding environments, this new product line is set to redefine durability and reliability standards for engineers working across aerospace, defense and other mission-critical applications.

The Dura-Con Space Grade Micro-Ds are built with twist pin contacts and machined sockets, which areSource: Cinch Connectivity SolutionsSource: Cinch Connectivity Solutions specified in NASA’s EEE-INST-002 standard and offer unparalleled resilience in the most challenging conditions. The integration of M83513 style micro-d connectors, DAP insulators, nickel-plated aluminum shells, and ETFE insulated wires ensures high performance even in space-constrained applications where size and weight are critical factors. Additionally, these components feature low outgassing materials, with levels under 1.0% total mass loss (TML) and less than 0.1% collected volatile condensable material (CVCM), meeting stringent requirements for space flight applications.

“Our Dura-Con Space Grade Micro-Ds are designed to meet the highest standards of reliability in the most demanding environments,” said Brad Taras, senior product manager at Cinch Connectivity Solutions. “With NASA EEE-INST-002 level 2 screening, these connectors have been qualified for space and are lot tested to perform in the extreme conditions of space, providing engineers with dependable solutions for critical applications.”
