16 August 2023

Samsung’s latest 5G modem will allow for next-generation smartphones to reach speeds of up to 10 Gbps as well as prolonged battery life and reliable connectivity.

Called the Exynos Modem 5300, the chipset handles multiple modes in a single chip from 2G to 5G and up to 3 Gbps download speed in 4G LTE. The 5G chipset supports FR1, FR2 and EN-DC technology with up to 10 Gbps download and up to 3.87 Gbps upload speeds.

Additionally, the Exynos Modem 5300 supports cross-generation network connectivity as well as support for non-standalone and standalone modes.

The chipset is configured with key components to make product design easier. It consists of a modem, supply modulator, clock buffer, phase array, PMIC and antenna module to manage connectivity between devices and battery power. Additionally, the built-in PCIe connects to a mobile processor for low latency and faster data transfer rates.
