The challenges to electric vehicle (EV) adoption in the U.S. and the innovations that are advancing EV capabilities are considered in this TE Connectivity podcast featuring Qiong Sun, vice president of automotive E-mobility at TE Connectivity.
The general public has been slow to adopt EVs, pointing to the need to streamline and increase production as
Source: TE Connectivity well as increase battery range, affordability, and charging infrastructure. Qiong considers emerging advances in these fields, noting how EV original equipment manufacturers and engineers are addressing consumer needs with battery innovations designed to provide a strategic advantage in today's competitive market.
Qiong explained, “Today, many of the innovations are focusing on scaled production and cost reduction to converge with the cost of the traditional internal combustion engine vehicle. The battery is the heart of the EV. And further improvements in range, time to charge and cost are all significant and necessary to get a wider range of consumer acceptance.”
