SiLC Technologies Inc., a maker of silicon photonics, and Cloud Light Technology Limited have formed an agreement where Cloud Light will deliver volume manufacturing of SiLC’s Eyeonic Vision sensors.
The sensors are based on a proprietary silicon photonic chip that integrates frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) into a single, tiny chip. The company claims it is the only chip capable of being integrated into next generation autonomous vehicles, security and industrial robots.
The silicon photonic-based lidar will provide:
- Accurate depth
- Instantaneous velocity
- Dual-polarization intensity
Cloud Light has capabilities in optical module design, high volume assembly, testing and manufacturing that includes a mature chip fab processor with an ecosystem partner in Asia. Early sample shipments and the transition to volume production is expected this year.
