German lidar startup Ibeo Automotive Systems said it will begin series production of its solid-state lidar sensor for vehicles in 2022.
The company offers both lidar sensor hardware as well as perception and validation software components and controls both the product development and manufacturing of the devices.
At the upcoming CES 2022, Ibeo will demonstrate its lidar solution that features no moving parts and that will be ready for self-driving cars in late 2022.
The company has a production line in Europe to manufacture the IbeoNext sensor. It can also use its in-house validation software to test the lidar.
At CES, Ibeo will demonstrate the IbeoNext sensor using live point cloud data to show how the sensor can recognize the environment around a vehicle.
CES 2022 takes place in Las Vegas January 5-8.
