RoboSense Lidar has completed what it claims is the first mass production of solid-state lidar in the world with 10 batches of deliveries sent to a vehicle manufacturer beginning in June 2021.
The company’s solid-state RS-Lidar-M1 garnered orders for mass produced models including GAC Aion designated projects.
Robosense has completed iterations of five major and dozens of smaller versions of the smart solid-state lidar in the past five years.
The M1 lidar contains smart software and hardware and is based on a two-dimensional microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) smart chip scanning architecture. Additionally, the sensor has a Gaze function that adjusts the scanning method according to the driving scene to improve the lidar perception ability and help with automatic driving performance.
The lidar also support functions such as over-the-air upgrade, stain detection, smart cleaning, smart heating, performance detection, power management, network management and more. The lidar also achieved SIL-2 and ASIL-B functional safety levels for vehicle perception systems.
