Hisense has released its F50 5G smartphone, which is powered by the UNISOC T7510 chipset.

The chipset is an octa-core architecture with four times Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and four times Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The chipsets also have an 800 MHz IMG PowerVR GM 9446 GPU and a V510 baseband. The chipset is compatible with both standalone and non-standalone modes, supports sub-6 GHz 5G bands with up to 100 MHz of bandwidth and 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G networks. Local connectivity includes Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.

The Hisense F50 5G smartphone includes a quad camera setup on the back consisting of an 8 megapixel, ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2 MP focal length lens, a 2 MP ultra-macro lens and a 48 MP main camera. This allows capturing facility of 4K high-resolution videos at 30 fps with video stabilization. The smartphone also includes a 5010 mAh battery and supports 18 W fast charging.

The Hisense smartphone is just one of many 5G handsets that have been released when not many people are shopping due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. In the last few weeks, OnePlus introduced its OnePlus 8 5G, which will be sold through Verizon and T-Mobile, and Samsung recently introduced two mid-range phones to its portfolio in order to expand the use of 5G globally.

In terms of smartphone adoption, it is believed that shipment volumes will be much lower than previously expected, slowed by a stagnant supply chain and crippled demand. So, it is unclear if introducing smartphones at this time will result in high sales volume or if they expect to be ready for when consumers return to stores or rely solely on the market through e-commerce.
