Multi-Camera FMC Module Accelerates Video Internet of Things Development

05 September 2018

Last month, Avnet Inc. introduced a new internet of things (IoT) starter kit, called the Ultra-Zed-EV, for prototyping and evaluating video processing systems.

Now, Avnet has made available a multi-camera FMC module that is compatible with the UltraZed starter kit in order to help engineers more efficiently develop custom video systems using Xilinx MPSoCs.

The FMC module expands Avnet’s embedded vision support for video analytics, video imaging, surveillance and other vision-guided functionalities with applications for a range of industries such as automotive, defense and aerospace, embedded processing and IoT.

The multi-camera FMC module is available as a standalone component or within the quad-camera FMC bundle, which includes a cable assembly and four camera modules with GMSL serialization. The bundle is fully integrated to the Xilinx revision stack, which features development resources to help design engineers get their ideas to market faster.

The module supports up to four HD camera modules using Maxim integrated GMSL technology with features including a low pin count, support for four ON Semiconductor 2.3 megapixel image sensors and high speed FAKRA mini connectors.
