Cirrus Logic enters the commercial imaging market

16 April 2026

Cirrus Logic has launched a family of industrial imaging semiconductors designed for high precision scanning systems.

The launch of the family enters Cirrus Logic into the commercial imaging sector. The series is designed for applications ranging from office and home scanners to industrial flatbed systems and machine vision scanning platforms.

The imaging ICs capture and process LED reflections from scanned objects to produce accurate digital representations, Cirrus Logic said.

The semiconductors support multi-lens and multi-channel scanning architectures used across these industrial and commercial imaging systems.

Cirrus Logic said the demand for precision imaging is accelerating as commercial and industrial segments adopt digital imaging hardware due to increased use of machine vision, inspection systems and integrated imaging platforms.

To enable the new range of devices, the imaging ICs have a redesigned SAR ADC architecture to allow for faster scan times, improved system efficiency and lower system costs, Cirrus Logic said. The integrated LED driver functionality reduces complexity and provides a design path for OEMs.

The industrial imaging IC family includes:

  • CS82L41 — Single-channel analog front-end IC with CMOS data output
  • CS82L44 — Four-channel analog front-end IC with CMOS/LVDS data output
  • CS82L46 — Six-channel analog front-end IC with CMOS/LVDS data output

“Across the imaging market, customers are under pressure to deliver greater precision without adding system complexity, especially as scanning platforms become more connected, data‑driven, and intelligent,” said Jonny Whyte, product marketing manager for industrial applications at Cirrus Logic. “Our new industrial imaging ICs solve this need by delivering precision analog performance and ultra‑low‑latency conversion in an integrated solution. ”
