Kyocera AVX has released a series of radial-leaded aluminum electrolytic capacitors used to save board space in industrial, communications and consumer electronics high-density PCB assemblies.

Called RES series, the discrete components are available in five case sizes with diameters spanning 5.00 mm to 8.00 mm, lengths spanning 11.00 mm to 20.00 mm and weights extending from just 0.41 g to 1.81 g.

Other features of the capacitors include:

  • Long-lifetime endurance of 5,000 hours to 7,000 hours at 105° C
  • High ripple current
  • Lead-free compatible
  • Compliant with RoHS, REACH and CA Prop 65 directives
  • Four voltage ratings (16 V, 25 V, 35 V and 50 V)
  • Capacitance values extending from 2.2 µF to 1,000 µF (±20%)
  • Withstands operating temperatures from -40° C to 105° C

The RES series is Kyocera AVX’s fourth line of wet aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The company also has two lines of conductive polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors and two lines of hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors.
