Lighting giant Signify has acquired Telensa Holdings Ltd. to expand its smart city infrastructure portfolio.
With the deal, Signify will gain narrow-band and TALQ-compliant solutions allowing the company to make smart city infrastructure affordable to cities using unlicensed radio space.
Signify and Telensa will be able to service towns and cities that want connected lighting and smart city central management system.
Telensa sold about 100 networks connecting more than 2 million light points in more than 400 cities globally. Recently, it has begun projects in the U.S., Brazil, Hong Kong, UAE, Australia and New Zealand.
