EA-ELR 10000 – the 'cool' regenerative load
With 96% efficient mains regeneration and the highest input power – 30 kW in 4U – EA Elektro-Automatik has expanded the market of electronic loads with the new EA-ELR 10000 series. The EA-ELR 10000 has future-proof features like true autoranging, a built-in waveform function generator and input power of 30 kW – more than any comparable device on the market. When paralleled in a rack system, up to 1.92 MW input power can be achieved. EA designs individual cabinet systems for turnkey installation.
Another advantage of EA-ELR 10000 is the efficient power regeneration. The absorbed input power can be fed back directly into the grid with an efficiency of 96%. This results in various advantages. On the one hand, the energy required for testing battery systems is significantly reduced, which is good for the environment and the user's wallet. Secondly, the high heat generation of conventional electronic loads can be avoided with mains regeneration, so that the operation of costly air-conditioned rooms is no longer necessary. For harsh industrial environments, where EA-ELR 10000 could be damaged by penetrating dust or liquids, for example, a closed housing water-cooled option is available. This uses a particularly efficient water-cooling system that dissipates over 90% of the heat generated.
The EA-ELR 10000 is intuitively controlled and programmable via a 5 inch TFT touchscreen front panel.
In addition, the unit has a battery discharge mode to simulate the real behavior of storage systems under laboratory conditions. Additionally, the integrated true autoranging function allows users to test more devices across a larger operating range. Users can control the EA-ELR 10000 the EA Power Control software. This in-house software is used for remote control of various device series (including EA-PSB 10000 and EA-ELR 10000) and allows up to ten devices to be conveniently controlled from the PC.
