Dialog Semiconductor plc confirmed that it is in discussions with Japanese electronics vendor Renesas Electronics Corp. about a possible all-cash offer worth up to $6 billion.
Reuters reported that Dialog confirmed the talks and that Renesas is required by regulation to announce its intention to make an offer on the company by early March or announce it does not intend to make an offer.
“A further announcement will be made as and when appropriate,” Dialog said in a statement. “There can be no certainty that any firm offer will be made for the company, nor as to the terms on which any firm offer might be made.”
