Pressure and temperature sensor built to withstand harsh conditions

14 January 2020

TE Connectivity has introduced an ultra-compact, chlorine resistant digital pressure and temperature sensor for wearables and underwater applications.

The sensor, MS5839-02BA, is a digital altimeter optimized for applications where chlorine and saline are present. The gel-filled design enables operation in harsh environments while providing accurate and reliable digital measurements.

The sensor offers water resistance, chlorine resistance, shielding, low power consumption and digital interconnectivity. The board level design delivers sensing accuracy for both pressure and temperature measurements.

TE Connectivity said the sensor can be used for applications such as shallow diving computers, swim watches, fitness trackers, underwater vehicles and diving equipment.
