Video: Watch how a hyperloop pod network might work through virtual reality

19 July 2019

Ahead of the upcoming 2019 Hyperloop Pod Competition, Delft Hyperloop, the student team from the University of Technology Delft, has released a new video as a walkthrough of how a passenger-based hyperloop system might work.

The video shows how a hyperloop transport system could function in real life with transport tubes underneath cities and pods carrying passengers to different cities in different countries. These pods could also be used for transporting cargo from city to city.

The concept shows a hyperloop in Europe with numerous pods soaring through tubes in various countries in densely populated areas. Delft Hyperloop calls the transportation network an additional way to travel without causing more harm to the environment.

Delft will participate in the fourth SpaceX-sponsored Hyperloop Pod Competition that will take place later this year. This year’s competition will be judged solely on one characteristic: maximum speed with successful deceleration without crashing. The pods must be self-propelled.
