ECIA and IHS Inc. Launch Online Partnership

04 December 2015

The Electronic Components Industry Association and business information provider IHS Inc. have partnered to enable ECIA members who are authorized distributors to serve price and availability data posted via www.ECIAAuthorized.com on www.Datasheets360.com, a comprehensive source for manufacturer datasheets.

Datasheets360.com has experienced impressive growth since its launch two years ago:

  • Content: over 205 million parts on site
  • Traffic: 822,000 page views/month
  • Engagement: average time on site is over five minutes with 2.5 pages per session
  • User loyalty: repeat visitors account for 38% of traffic

Now, interested buyers can take the next step and get the most current price and availability information about the exact part they are searching. From there, they can select distributors and purchase parts via ECIAAuthorized.com.

“This relationship with IHS is part of our ongoing effort to provide additional value to ECIA members, by driving greater awareness of their companies and product offerings among our members’ end customers,” explained John Denslinger, president and CEO of ECIA. “IHS Engineering360 is the world’s largest online destination for components engineers, who are looking for data, insight, tools and community. Now these component buyers can easily purchase our members’ products while searching manufacturer datasheets. It’s the definition of ease of doing business.”

“Over the past two years, Datasheets360.com has experienced significant growth in traffic, engagement, and user loyalty – establishing its position as a valuable resource for engineering, purchasing and related professionals who rely on manufacturer datasheets and distributor pricing and availability information,” said Don Lesem, vice president, IHS Engineering360 Media Solutions. “By partnering with ECIA to provide the most current pricing and availability data, we are taking the next step in giving this audience greater access to the content they need, while delivering additional value to component manufacturers and distributors.”

“This is a very exciting partnership for our customers,” said Blair Haas, CEO of Bud Industries, Inc. and chair of ECIA. “The growth of ECIAAuthorized.com has been phenomenal in meeting the user’s demand for authorized product and avoiding potentially counterfeit goods. This next step makes the site a one-stop hub for all of the required product information by combining IHS’ datasheet resource with ECIAAuthorized.com’s stock and pricing data. Together, we will provide the best possible customer experience in gathering product information.”
