Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) will pay technology licensing firm WiLAN an undisclosed sum as part of a licensing and settlement agreement to resolve litigation pending in the U.S. District Court in Delaware, WiLAN (Ottawa, Canada) announced.
All other terms of the license agreement are confidential, WiLAN said.
The license relates to patented phase locked loop technology used in a wide range of semiconductor products, WiLAN said. The technology is licensed by PLL Technologies Inc. (PTI), a subsidiary of WiLAN.
It is the second time in two months that TI (Dallas) has entered into a license and settlement agreement to resolve pending litigation with a WiLAN subsidiary. In February, TI agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to license technology related to microcontrollers from MCU Clocking Solutions Inc. The agreement resolves pending litigation in the U.S. District Court, WiLAN said.
