Chipmaker startup Hailo has expanded its artificial intelligence (AI) offerings with new AI accelerators designed for deployments in a variety of programs and products.

Called the Hailo-8 Century PCIe card line offers up to 208 tera operations per second (TOPS) for advanced applications and the Hailo-8L features up to 13 TOPS for entry-level applications.

Features of the Century PCIe card features:

  • Between 52 to 208 TOPS
  • Used for video management
  • 400 FPS per watt power efficiency
  • 70% reduction in Edge AI deployment costs

Hailo said the Century card will enable many verticals such as security, retail and smart cities but could also be used for advanced applications like very large streaming and Edge boxes.

The launch of the two AI cards follows the launch of the Hailo-15 vision processor units in the first quarter of this year. The devices are available through the company or through its ODM partners Aetina, Lanner and Mitac.

“With the rise of generative AI driven applications, our powerful and cost-efficient solutions bring unmatched AI performance and power efficiency, enabling state-of-the-art transformer-based models such as ViT, CLIP and SAM, at the edge,” said Orr Danon, CEO of Hailo.
