Possible cyberattack conducted on Nvidia

01 March 2022

Nvidia Corp. is investigating if a potential cyberattack was conducted on the company following outages in email systems and developer tools over the past few days.

According to a report from Reuters, Nvidia confirmed it is investigating the incident, but claimed that its business and commercial activities remain uninterrupted.

“We are still working to evaluate the nature and scope of the event and don’t have any additional information to share at this time,” Nvidia said in a statement.

The malicious network intrusion was reported last week, but it was unclear if any data was stolen or deleted.

Bloomberg reported that the hack looked to be relatively minor and not fueled by geopolitical tensions.

Nvidia is a maker of semiconductor chips and one of the largest graphics processor companies in the world. The company is also heavily involved in developing autonomous vehicle semiconductors for both automated and safety aspects.
