LeddarTech acquires lidar vendor Phantom Intelligence

23 September 2020

LeddarTech, a maker of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving sensing technology, has acquired Phantom Intelligence, a developer of signal processing and lidar technology for vehicles.

The acquisition includes all Phantom Intelligence intellectual property and technology including devices that protect vulnerable road users (VRUs) and improve safety of travel.

This is the second acquisition of the year for LeddarTech as it acquired VayaVision, an Israeli sensor-fusion and perception startup in July. This acquisition gives LeddarTech access to specific lidar designs, software and customer and partner projects and Phantom’s IP will transition to the LeddarTech brand.

The acquisition furthers the company's strategy to aggregate and consolidate automotive sensing technologies. LeddarTech has accelerated its move to serve multiple transportation and vehicle markets with sensing solutions for ADAS and automated driving.
