Nokia recently commissioned a study to find out just what consumers want from 5G, which is being deployed in numerous cities worldwide, and the services that will be emerging because of the technology’s higher speeds, higher bandwidth and low latency.
Nokia surveyed 3,000 smartphone users in three 5G markets and found that 80% of people understand the benefits of 5G, 50% would be willing to switch providers to get it and 50% of respondents are willing to pay more for it.
The top use cases for 5G among those surveyed included fixed wireless access (FWA) as an alternative to wired broadband, video streaming and video calls without interruption, entertainment and on-the-go services, enhanced live venue experiences, and a more efficient way to drive via connected vehicles.
