NEXT is currently developing what it says is the first advanced smart transportation and goods movement systems based on swarms of modular self-driving vehicles. Globetouch will bring its connected vehicle and Internet of things connectivity platform to the project.
The collaboration for smart transportation is aimed to tackle a number of issues such as global population, urbanization, climate change and the development of smart mobility.
“Modernizing the world’s ailing ground transportation system is both one of the most significant challenges and opportunities of the 21st Century,” says Emmanuele Spera, CEO of NEXT. “NEXT and Globetouch Inc. will identify strategic projects that will accelerate integration around multimodal transportation solutions and ultimately help cities alleviate congestion.”
Globetouch says its connectivity platform will support NEXT’s autonomous fleets and associated IoT infrastructure around the globe.
