AmberSemi to showcase its next gen power conversion, control and protection breakthroughs at APEC 2025

17 March 2025

Amber Semiconductor, Inc. (AmberSemi), a fabless semiconductor company developing next generation power conversion, control and protection solutions, will showcase its latest breakthroughs at the Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia, March 16 to March 20. The company will offer both public and private demos at booth #517, alongside a featured Main Theater presentation by CEO Thar Casey on its recently announced 50 V DC to 0.8 V DC power delivery solution for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.

At booth #517, AmberSemi will publicly showcase its first commercial semiconductor line for AC to DC power conversion. This new offline AC-DC conversion product offers major size reduction and design-in simplification. Production samples will be available to Alpha customers in Q2 2025 with broader EVK availability in Q3 2025.

AmberSemi will also showcase its Power Switch Control and Protection Platform, a first of its kind power switching and protection device enabled by direct digital control and precision sensing, delivering intelligent control and fast protection for higher reliability and better uptime. Evaluation samples will be available toward the end of 2025 for key customer testing and requirements refinement, with the commercial launch targeted for mid-2026.

In addition to its booth presence, AmberSemi’s CEO Thar Casey will deliver technology presentations open to all attendees on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Casey will present details of their recently announced initiative for a 50 V DC to 0.8 V DC solution for data centers, delivering power directly to the AI GPU and GPU chips.

“March 2025, and the APEC event specifically, is a major inflection point for our business, as we begin the commercial phase of our breakthrough power technologies,” said Thar Casey. “With two customers already announced and more to follow, APEC 2025 marks the culmination of some amazing R&D work that is bringing unique, disruptive digital power solutions to the market that solve concrete market problems across the entire power ecosystem.”

Mr. Casey continued, “And nothing embodies this more than our recent announcement of targeting power directly to the GPU / CPU to enable greater power density improving computing capabilities for AI chips.”
