KRYTAR announces new compact directional coupler operating in the wideband frequency range of 0.5 to 26.5 GHz

19 December 2024

KRYTAR, Inc., a developer of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment, announces a new directional coupler operating in the wideband frequency range of 0.5 to 26.5 GHz (L- through K-Bands) offering nominal coupling of 30 dB. The new coupler offers solutions for emerging designs and test and measurement applications including wireless communications, radar and satellite communications (SATCOM).

This new directional coupler, Model 152630, offers superior performance ratings including nominal couplingSource: KRYTAR, Inc.Source: KRYTAR, Inc. (with respect to output) of 30 dB, ±1.8 dB. Frequency sensitivity is ±1.8 dB. The directional coupler exhibits insertion loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.0 dB, directivity of greater than 10 dB, and maximum VSWR is 1.45 at any port.

Additional features for Model 152630 include input power rating of 20 W average and 3 kW peak. The directional coupler comes with industry-standard SMA female connectors. The compact package measures just 4.40 inches (L) x 0.38 inches (W) x 0.73 inches (H), and weighs only 2.3 ounces. Operating temperature is -54° C to 85° C.

KRYTAR directional couplers are designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. KRYTAR couplers offer solutions for many ultra-broadband applications including electronic warfare (EW), mmWave, 5G NR (New Radio), Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, SATCOM, radar, MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) radio links, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beamforming and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing environments. Many KRYTAR products can meet the rigorous demands of both space and thermal vacuum applications.
