KRYTAR, Inc., a developer of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment, announces two new directional couplers operating in the wideband frequency range of 0.4 GHz to 18.5 GHz (L- through K-Bands) offering nominal coupling of 10 dB and 16 dB. These new couplers offer the ultimate solution for emerging designs and test and measurement applications including wireless communications, radar and satellite communications (SATCOM).
KRYTAR’s new directional coupler, Model 100418510, delivers superior performance ratings including nominal coupling (with respect to output) of 10 dB, ±1.5 dB. Frequency sensitivity is ±1.5 dB. The directional coupler exhibits insertion loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.5 dB, directivity of gretaer than12 dB and maximum voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 1.35 at any port.
Directional coupler Model 100418516 provides superior performance ratings including nominal coupling (with respect to output) of 16 dB, ±2.0 dB. Frequency sensitivity is ±1.4 dB. The directional coupler exhibits insertion loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.1 dB, directivity of greater than 12 dB and maximum VSWR is 1.35 at any port.
Both directional couplers offer input power rating of 20 W average and 3 kW peak. The directional couplers come with industry-standard N Type female connectors and optional SMA female connectors. Each compact package measures just 4.40 inches (L) x 0.53 inches (W) x 0.73 inches (H) and weighs only 5 ounces. Operating temperature is -54° C to 85° C.
KRYTAR’s extended family of directional couplers are uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. KRYTAR couplers offer solutions for many ultra-broadband applications including electronic warfare (EW), mmWave, 5G NR (New Radio), Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, SATCOM, radar, MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) radio links, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beamforming and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing environments. Many KRYTAR products can meet the rigorous demands of both space and thermal vacuum applications.
